Range: highlands of northern and western South America, including a large part of the Andes (from Argentina and northwards), the Venezuelan Coastal Range and the Tepuis.
南米北部と西部の高地でアルゼンチンより北側のアンデス地域を含む地域に分布。

(0)基亜種 Campylopterus largipennis obscurus (Gould, 1846)
Range: Mountains of Colombia and Venezuela to nw Argentina.
コロンビアとベネゼラからアルゼンチン北西部の山地に分布。
