南米の高地森林に分布。
(0)基亜種 Pharomachrus auriceps auriceps (Gould, 1842)
Range: eastern Panama (Cerro Pirre), and Andes from Colombia south, on the west slope, to northwestern Peru (Cajamarca), and on the east slope south to Bolivia (south to western Santa Cruz).
パナマ東部からボリビア北部の山地に分布。
2019年09月16日、ペルーのマヌー道路上部で撮影。
