Range: Middle East and the Indian subcontinent to southern China and northern Thailand.
中東とインド亜大陸から中国南部、タイ北部に分布。
セイケイ Purple Swamphen Porphyrio porphyrio から分離。
(0)基亜種 Porphyrio poliocephalus poliocephalus (Latham, 1801)
Range: India to Sri Lanka, southern China, northern Thailand, and the Andaman and Nicobar islands. An introduced population in Florida (United States) apparently is this subspecies.
インドからスリランカ、中国南部、タイ北部、アンダマン諸島、ニコバー諸島に分布。米国フロリダに移入されている。
