北米で繁殖し、米国南部から南米で越冬する。
(1)亜種 Tringa semipalmata inornata (Brewster, 1887)
Range: breeds central Canada to Nebraska and Colorado; winters coastally from the southern United States to northern Chile.
カナダ中部からネブラスカとコロラドで繁殖し、米国南部からチリ北部の太平洋岸で越冬する。
〇1992年03月05日、米国・マウンテンビユー (Mountain View) 市のショアライン (Shoreline) 公園で観察。歩いているときは全身灰色で模様がないんですが、羽を広げると黒・白・黒とみごとな模様に驚かされます。
2016年01月08日、コスタリカ・ニコヤ湾で撮影。
