東南アジア、南アジアに分布。

(1)亜種 Pericrocotus solaris griseogularis Gould, 1863
Range: SE China to n Indochina and Taiwan.
中国南東部からインドシナ北部と台湾に分布。

〇2004年03月28日、台湾・奥萬大森林遊楽区で観察。雄が赤く、雌が黄色で、両方一緒にいると本当に綺麗です。

(2)亜種 Pericrocotus solaris cinereigula Sharpe, RB 1889
Range: Mts. of n Borneo.
ボルネオ北部の山地に分布。
