インドネシア、マレーシア、フィリピンに分布。
Clements2022ではキバラウグイスの亜種Horornis flavolivaceus oreophilusに格下げとなっている。
(1)亜種 Horornis vulcanius oreophilus (Hartert, E, 1909)
Range: N Borneo (Mt. Kinabalu).
ボルネオ北部（キナバル山）に分布。
